We Ate There… Samsons Harrogate
We visited Samsons in Harrogate for the first time last weekend, and I think it's safe to say that this will not be our last. We started with the wine list, which offered an excellent selection at very reasonable prices. We couldn't choose between a Musar Jeune and a Primitivo, but we went for the Primitivo on the sommelier's advice; I will save the Musar for our next visit.
The food menu is definitely designed to be accessible for everyone whilst retaining several exciting options, particularly in the small plates section. I was tempted to order a selection of these, but in the end, we opted for a more traditional approach. Everything that we ordered was well prepared and tasty - the only disappointing thing was the Skate Wing which was overcooked.
This is a young business worthy of the support of anyone who enjoys modern British cuisine. It certainly fills the gap left following the demise of Restaurant 92. We will be recommending Samsons and shall return, not least for the Musar Jeune.
